Ollantaytambo Inca Quarries – Cachiccata

Néstor PS

The most impressive about Ollantaytambo is not the citadel itself but the inca quarries that were on the other side of the valley. We can find hundreds of half-carved stones in a spectacular natural setting overlooking the snowed Veronica peak. The way to get from the Inca bridge in Ollantaytambo to the quarries can take an hour and a half or two hours, depending on your shape. According to the entrance signal you can return descending to the town of Cachiccata but we could not find the way so we returned by the same way. IMG-20150708-WA0012
